Poppy Seeds

Poppy seeds are small, kidney-shaped seeds harvested from the opium poppy plant (Papaver somniferum). Despite their origin, the seeds themselves contain only trace amounts of opiates (like morphine or codeine) and are commonly used in cooking and baking.
